about

April is National Poetry Month in the United States, and what better way to celebrate than with two unearthed tracks featuring typical Nil euphony coupled with neofluxus poetics? Virtual 45RPM #2 is free to download, so just do it and get it over with.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nil commenced music production early in 1998 and proceeded to record hundreds of cassettes of original music in basements and bedrooms, shacks and tents throughout the Franklin & Hampshire County Tri-Lettuce Belt region of western Massachusetts. Five years later the creative flame was instantly extinguished when an exploding furnace obliterated two key members of the band during a recording session. Fortunately, however, the cassette tapes survived. The oeuvre Nil left behind spans a wide sonic spectrum--from turgid ass-plunger to sublime hook-driven accessibility--encapsulating the experimental spirit which fountain-spurt during the great 4-track recording revolution of the late 20th-century.

When the transfer of all the analog cassettes to the digital realm is complete(target date: Sept. 2019), the tapes will be epoxied together to make a coffee table which will then be placed on permanent display in the MoMA custodial break room.
