From an orphaned, unlabeled Memorex CD2. SWaN appeared on Nil's final mp3 dot com collection, Not In My Backyard. And like the swan it presents a musical dichotomy of relaxed gentleness and I-might-bite-you wariness. Recorded sometime before autumn 2001 at the Brown Bunker, Montague. Not much else is presently known about this tape.

Nil began making music in Amherst MA, early in 1998. They played roughly once per week until March, 2003, when 2 of the band members were destroyed by an exploding furnace. These are the tapes they made while they existed.
